KOVAR is a Virginia Knights of Columbus 501(c) (3) tax exempt charity established in 1971 to provide financial assistance through grants and home loans to tax exempt organizations providing training and assistance to citizens with intellectual disabilities.Donations made on this page pass through Council 395 and are credited towards the Council's annual fund raising goal.
Our MISSIONFounded in 1973 by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Saint Francis Home was created to provide an affordable, loving home and quality assisted care for older adults who have limited financial means. Saint Francis Home is a licensed Assisted Living Facility, and welcomes residents regardless of race, religion, or national origin.OUR VALUESResident care is based on the fundamental Catholic belief that human life is sacred and every person is precious. An essential aspect of our mission is to enhance the life and dignity of each of our residents. There is an on-site chapel, where Catholic Mass and non-Catholic religious services are held to address the spiritual needs of all of our residents.OUR HOMESaint Francis Home provides comprehensive services: housing, food, safety, medication management, and assistance with daily living needs. The Home goes above and beyond their duty to enable a connected and healthy older population through extracurricular activities and programs.
The Robert N. Timberlake Scholarship is possible due to a generous donation from the family of our late brother Knight, who was a member of Council 395 for over a quarter of a century. Similarly, the Cassells Scholarship Fund was created by a gift from deceased Brother Sir Knight Jack Cassells. Both are intended to recognize High School seniors who actively practice their Catholic faith and serve their community, and who plan to continue their education.Based on funds available on April 1, the Scholarship Committee will determine the number and dollar value of awards.Donations will be added to the endowment fund(s) to allow future scholarship awards
Virginia Knights of Columbus Charities, Inc. (VKCCI), a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization that helps people in need throughout the state. Since its incorporation on July 1, 1994, VKCCI has distributed 765 grants totaling over $1.16 million to individuals in need.Donations made on this page pass through Council 395 and are credited towards the Council's annual fund raising goal.
