Fr. Robert W. McDonald Council #395 is classified as a "home" Council, or "area" Council, as it is not associated with a single parish, but rather draws its membership from all of the nearby parishes of the Catholic Church.  Members are from:

• Saint Michael Catholic Church (Springfield Road)
• Saint Mary Catholic Church (Gayton Road)
• Our Lady of Lourdes (Woodman Road)
• Church of the Redeemer (Meadowbridge Road)
• Saint Anthony Maronite Church (Sadler Road)
• Church of Vietnamese Martyrs (Patterson Avenue)
• Saint Bridget Catholic Church (Three Chopt Road)

As a Home Council, members are part of a corporation that owns and operates the Fr. McDonald Columbian Center.  The Center is used exclusively for the benefit of the Council members, and affiliated organizations.

As an Area Council, members have a broader view of the needs of the community beyond those of a single parish, and work to provide volunteers services and monetary support for these community needs.
